Terrible. I left the grooming department in tears. I am an owner of a senior shetland sheepdog (12/13 yo). Aside from his age and a fatty tumor his only health issue is sensitive skin. We do not have a primary groomer. I brought my dog in weeks before the scheduled appointment to make sure he would be all set the day of. My dog "passed" inspections and the employee agreed to give my dog some relief so we went ahead and scheduled an appointment. I was beyond excited. Weeks pass, I wake up and arrive on time to our 9:30 am appointment only to get rejected. The reasoning? "He might get itchy so its a vet's job". Vet offices do not take grooming appointments. That is just simply not what they do. And he needs to be shaved because ITS THE HAIR making him itch. The employees, including the grooming department manager, were simply too scared I would sue if my dog tried to itch himself. They did not even offer to bathe him. It made no sense and I balled my eyes out in the parking lot. They told me to try Yalesville Vet Office who were also absolutely no help. I received no apology, no sympathy from Petco. I even called the department to express just how upset they had made me. I heard the manager in the background say "hang up". Luckily North Colony Animal Hospital called an employee (who was not even in the office that day) to schedule an appointment to have my dog shaved, bathed and comfortable. They were also in disbelief of Petco's behavior and reasoning. I will never be returning to the store unless it is to file an official complaint because I can't online. Not only was my dog uncomfortable two extra weeks than needed but I spent the whole day tears trying to apologize to my dog. Beyond disappointed in this company.
For a business that claims to be able to handle all dog types, they refused to service my 5lb puppy because he was anxious. I understand safety rules but they didn't even try.
Petco is an amazing place and they literally have anything and everything for your pet dog, cat, snake, bird, etc. I love that pets are also welcome in the store. I know my pets love it and on the way out they always give them a treat. If you have an animal I definitely recommend.
I like the choices of food and toys for my small dog.
I took a 2 year old, 5 year old,and 7 year old to buy a fish. The woman who helped us was very nice and helpful.
