Pastor Bish (I believe the name is) and the school staff, since the pastor is the leader and role model, do not accept kids or people for who they are. I was told my Mr. Bish that my daughter was required to wear a skirt because she is a girl and that they are not accepting any transgender/gay/lesbian/ etc. kids. My daughter does not feel comfortable wearing a skirt and that doesn't mean she falls under this category. Even though if she did fall under this, even if she were that person I thought that as a Christian church/school they would be loving and accepting no matter what you wear or who you are. I thought they wouldn't be one to judge. But I was wrong. Mr. Bish also told me that they do this because it says in the Bible that women shall not wear men's clothing and vice versa. There are pants made for women which means that it is women's clothing, made for women to wear, so this argument is not valid. He also told me that years ago the feminist movement was created by lesbians who wanted to wear pants. That the feminists were lesbians. I strongly encourage people to look for another church/private school that does accept you and your kids for who they really are. That accepts people for who they are no matter what because after all God is the one and only judge and no one else can tell you that he won't love you because you wear pants when you're a girl. Or that God doesn't love you because you are transgender/gay/lesbian/etc. Here the belief consists that women stay home, do housework wear only dresses and skirts, have kids while men go to work and do what they please since they are the head of the house. I understand that many people like this and are comfortable with this (not that it's a bad thing) but if you aren't comfortable with this then Heritage is definitely not the place for you or your kids. If you're opinion is not the same as theirs it will be shamed and it will not be tolerated.
This is a great church very friendly and speaks the truth
I've been attending Heritage for ten years and still really enjoy the services. Pastor Bish consitently preaches salvation messages and has not strayed like many fundamental churches are recently. There are many ministries that I have been able to get involved in, mainly bus ministry, and I have enjoyed having a part in my church. I am proud to call Heritage my home church. It's a friendly, warm environment with a place for everyone.
Ive been to tthis church ever since kindergarden, and i loved this place. I hope my friend ildi can join in for friend day.
